Who is the actual fashion victim?

I conducted a handy-dandy Wikipedia search for the term "Fashion victim":

" a term claimed to have been coined by Oscar de la Renta that is used to identify a person who is unable to identify commonly recognized boundaries of style.Fashion victims are victims because they are vulnerable to faddishness and materialism, two of the widely recognized excesses of fashion, and consequently are at the mercy of society's prejudices or of the commercial interest of the fashion industry, or of both. According to Versace, "When a woman alters her look too much from season to season, she becomes a fashion victim."

I am in love with fashion. He is my lover, confidant, friend, family and home. To think that people talk about him as though he is some criminal who claims countless victims is beyond me. Fashion may be bold and care-free, but he is NOT an attacker. Fashion is the victim, People are the attackers.

Fashion is to be adored and enjoyed. Alexander Mc Queen was not asking you to put on those armadillo shoes and go to Maracas Beach for a shark and bake. Gaultier was not saying to sport a cone bra over your dress when out at dinner with the in-laws either. Take fashion for what it is- an art form. It is a medium by which we get to see and touch beauty and magic. Fashion provides the inspiration for clothes in the form of silhouette, texture, colour and feel. Fashion isn't holding a gun to your head and telling you to wear lace masks over your entire heads when  attending a Hilton brunch.

Fashion is the real victim since he gets such a bad rap from the actual offenders! Women who chase the "latest" this and that without considering if it suits their lifestyle, appearance and budget give fashion a bad name. "I do it all for the love of fashion", they say. No, you do it because you are materialistic and you do not know who you really are. You are making fashion look bad.

Fashion and its admirers will live in harmony when people learn how to appropriate trends and fad to their own personal style. You must first know who you are and what suits you before you add on fashionable influences.

Use fashion properly. He won't bite if you don't bite first.
